2- Creative and Effective Sources of Roman Law: The creative and effective sources of Roman law varied according to the political periods of Roman law.

A– During the monarchy, the creative sources of law were the king, traditional rules, and the senate. The executive sources were the king.

B- During the Republic period, the creative sources of law were the people’s assembly (senatus) and the work of lawyers. The executive sources were the consuls. Th e Twelve Tables emerged during the Republic period. The political reason for the emergence of the Twelve Tables was to eliminate class conflict by removing the inequality between the Patricians and the Plebeians. Its legal purpose was to collect (codify) and systematize traditional law.

C– During the early empire or Principatus period, the creative sources of law were the people’s assembly and the princeps (president). The source of validity was the jurists.

D- The late empire, the Dominatus, was the creator and source of events during the reign of the emperors.
