Turkey Tourist Visa
A visa, in its simplest form, is a permit issued by the official authorities of a country to foreigners traveling to that country and stamped in their passports. Countries use their national sovereignty to subject foreigners traveling to their countries to different visa regimes based on their nationality.
Every year, a large number of tourists come to our country for vacation purposes. Some of them are citizens of countries for which Turkey has applied for exemption, while others are citizens of countries for which Turkey applies a visa regime. The visa regime applied by Turkey varies from country to country in accordance with the principle of reciprocity.
Citizens of countries to which Turkey applies for a visa must obtain a visa before coming to our country. Foreigners coming to Turkey for vacation, travel, and tourism purposes must apply for a Turkey Tourist Visa.
How to Obtain a Tourist Visa to Turkey?
As a rule, tourist visa applications are obtained from the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Turkey in the country where the foreigner permanently resides. However, citizens of some countries can apply for a tourist visa electronically without going to the diplomatic mission. The foreigner applying for a visa is required to provide a document showing their income, a document proving their return, a hotel reservation, and an invitation. The purpose here is to ensure that the person’s visit is appropriate for the stated purpose.
In particular, citizens of countries with underdeveloped economies and high unemployment rates come to Turkey on tourist visas to work informally. To prevent illegal immigration, official authorities request documents supporting their return. Documents proving that a foreigner has assets or a permanent job in their home country are accepted as supporting documents. For example, a person’s pay slip, workplace activity certificate, student certificate, bank account statement, and real estate title deed are accepted as supporting documents.
