
Turkey Family Reunification Visa
Turkey’s Ranking in 3rd Place According to the visa policy applied to countries, citizens of the country they wish to obtain a visa from must obtain a visa appropriate to their purpose of visiting Turkey.
The family reunification visa is a type of visa granted to foreign family members for the purpose of preserving family unity and is granted to foreigners who meet certain conditions.
Foreigners who are married to a citizen of the Republic of Turkey or a foreigner with a valid work or residence permit in Turkey, or their children, must apply for a family reunification visa, prepare the necessary documents on the appointment date, and apply to the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey.
Documents Required for a Family Reunification Visa in Turkey
Foreign spouses and children applying for a family reunification visa through the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey must first apply for an appointment. The appointment application must be made to the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Turkey in the country where the foreigner resides or has permanent residence. The foreign national is kindly requested to come to the Embassy in person on the appointment date with the following documents:
Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of visa application;
Biometric photograph;
Marriage certificate or Family Registration Example (requested from spouses);
Birth certificate or population registration example (requested from children).
Spouses and children coming to Turkey under a family reunification visa or visa exemption can reside in Turkey by applying for a family residence permit.
Family residence permits are issued for a maximum period of 3 years, and if the spouse to be reunited is a foreign national, the residence permit to be issued to the spouse or children cannot exceed the duration of the sponsor’s residence permit.
Documents required for family residence permit application
Documents required from foreigners married to Turkish citizens:
Family Residence Permit Application Form;
Original and photocopy of the foreign spouse’s and/or children’s passports;
4 photographs;
Marriage certificate or Family Population Registry Card;
Original and photocopy of the Turkish citizen spouse’s identity card;
Health Insurance (required from both spouses);
Document showing the income status of the Turkish citizen spouse;
Population Registration Sample;
Place of residence document;
Document regarding the criminal record of the Turkish citizen spouse.
Documents Required from Foreigners Married to Foreigners with Residence Permits in Turkey:
Family Residence Permit Application Form;
Original and photocopy of the foreign spouse’s and/or children’s passports;
4 photographs;
Original and photocopy of the foreign spouse’s passport;
Original and photocopy of the foreign spouse’s residence or work permit (if the spouse has refugee or subsidiary protection status, the original and photocopy of this document);Marriage certificate or Family Population Registry Card;
Document showing the foreign spouse’s income level;
Health Insurance (Required from both spouses);
Criminal record certificate (Those who have resided in Turkey for more than 5 years are not required to bring a criminal record certificate from their own country.);
Proof of residence.
