Severance pay is a form of compensation given by the employer in accordance with the relevant article of the Labor Law No. 4857 in case the employee leaves the workplace for various reasons.

Severance pay is a form of compensation given by the employer in case the employee leaves the workplace for various reasons in accordance with the Labor Law No. 4857.  At the same time, employee must work in the same workplace for at least 1 year for severance pay.

According to the relevant article of the Labor Law No. 4857, an employee who leaves the job voluntarily (resigns) does not have the right to demand severance pay. However, if the employee leaves the workplace by proving that he/she was dismissed against his/her own will (a justified reason shown in the Labor legislation), he/she will be entitled to severance pay even if he/she has left the workplace.
